Media Facade Research

As most of the precedents could be classified into more than one category, which the hierarchy had been setup for this research.

• Basic TV Screen - TV screen is appear in the early stage until now. 1-way communication
• LED/ Kinetic enhanced facade - LED appear after TV screen, which could produce visual images like video on TV screen. Kinetic is about 3D movement of the facade. Kinetic and LED are also 1-way communication.
  
• Sensor based enhanced facade - Sensor based is about the facade which have sensor(s) to detect the surrounding environment/ people activities, which is only collect the signal, transfer and transform into the facade to have the lighting or motion effects. Mostly are 1-way communication, however, in some cases, which will be 2-way communications. The main difference to interactive is people do not required to pay attention and give input to the device.
  
• Interactive - Interactive is 2-way communications, which required human input and the media facade will have the instance feedback. This type of facade normally will attract and gather people to interact with the facade through the devices.
